Suzuki Jimny Lite Specifications And Pricing

Suzuki has confirmed the arrival of its Jimny Lite, which is essentially a Jimny that’s missing a few bits, and ditches alloy wheels in favour of steel wheels, which could mean it’s really the Jimny Heavy…?

Anyhow, up until now, the wonderful and incredibly popular little Jimny has only been available in one spec, with your choice of manual or auto transmission.

Buyers of the new Jimny Lite won’t have that choice to make, as it’s only available with the manual transmission. This shouldn’t bother you as the manual Jimny is way more fun to drive than the auto, so much more fun in fact, that you’d be completely bonkers to buy the auto. Gearbox choices aside, the Jimny Lite is the same as the full-fat Jimny mechanically.

As mentioned above, the Jimny Lite will ride on standard 15″ steel wheels and comes with plastic textured side mirror covers, Halogen projector headlights and no fog lamps.

Inside the Jimny Lite, the full-fat Jimny’s infotainment system has been replaced with an in-dash Radio/CD player, including standard Bluetooth connectivity, allowing calls and music to be streamed.  Air conditioning is standard with ‘manually operated climate control’, or in other words a knob or two.

“We will also maintain the fair allocation process based on customer orders with a queue system as we have done with the current Jimny in 2021, making sure the next order in the queue gets the next car to hit Australian soil, every time” said Pachota.

Recommended retail pricing for the Jimny Lite is $26,990 plus dealer delivery and government charges. Single tone metallic paint is a $695 option with twin-tone costing $1,295.

The Jimny Lite goes on sale from the 1^st of August.
